dlivrd Technologies Inc. Acquires Optio, Expanding Its Ecosystem Into Pharmacy Last-Mile Delivery
Acquisition adds specialized pharmacy delivery technology, healthcare integrations and a proven last-mile platform to dTI’s growing technology ecosystem.
PHILADELPHIA, PA · NOVEMBER 2, 2026
dlivrd Technologies Inc. (dTI), a technology company building and acquiring solutions across logistics, delivery and workforce operations, today announced the acquisition of Optio, a healthcare-focused last-mile delivery technology platform. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
As part of the acquisition, Optio Delivers will become Optio, with the company refocusing exclusively on pharmacy and healthcare last-mile technology. Optio connects pharmacies, patients and delivery operations through a single platform for order integration, patient scheduling, routing and dispatch, driver mobile execution, real-time communications, proof of delivery and exception management.
The platform has powered hundreds of thousands of patient deliveries representing more than one million prescriptions delivered. Under dTI ownership, Optio will build on that operating history while investing deeper in the workflows unique to pharmacy delivery.
“Pharmacy delivery is much more than getting a package from point A to point B. There are patient communications, scheduling, chain of custody, proof requirements and failed delivery attempts involved. Optio has already built technology around those workflows. We saw an opportunity to take what works, focus the company entirely on pharmacy, and surround it with the capabilities of the dTI ecosystem to accelerate what comes next.”Christopher Heffernan, Founder and CEO of dlivrd Technologies Inc.
“Optio was built around a simple but important idea: a prescription isn’t successful until it reaches the patient. After helping pharmacies deliver more than one million prescriptions, joining dTI gives us the opportunity to take that foundation and scale it much further. With dTI’s technology ecosystem, Logiscal’s delivery capabilities and a renewed focus exclusively on pharmacy, I’m excited about what the next chapter of Optio can become.”Preet Virdi, Founder of Optio
A Specialized Technology Layer for Pharmacy Delivery
Under dTI ownership, Optio will focus exclusively on pharmacy and healthcare last-mile delivery. The platform is designed to connect pharmacy systems with the operational steps required to move a prescription from ready status to the patient’s door.
Optio’s capabilities include pharmacy-system integrations, patient-controlled delivery scheduling, automated notifications, real-time tracking and estimated arrival times, barcode and label workflows, routing and dispatch, mobile driver execution, signature and photographic proof of delivery, configurable recipient verification, exception management and operational reporting.
Optio will continue operating as a specialized platform within the dTI portfolio while gaining access to shared technology, operational and growth resources across the organization.
Connecting Technology With Delivery Capacity
The acquisition also creates opportunities for Optio to work alongside other companies within the dTI ecosystem. Logiscal, dTI’s last-mile delivery and fleet solution, can provide an additional layer of delivery capacity and route execution for Optio customers.
The model allows each platform to remain focused on its core function. Optio manages the specialized pharmacy workflow and patient experience, while Logiscal can provide the delivery capacity underneath it. The combined ecosystem creates the potential to consolidate deliveries from multiple pharmacies into geographically optimized routes while maintaining pharmacy-specific communication, tracking, proof and operational workflows through Optio.
“That’s where the ecosystem strategy becomes powerful. Optio doesn’t need to become another general delivery company. It can go deeper into pharmacy. Optio can own the pharmacy and patient experience, Logiscal can provide delivery capacity and route execution, and the broader dTI portfolio can support the technology and infrastructure around them.”Christopher Heffernan
Going Deeper, Not Wider
Rather than expanding Optio as a general-purpose delivery platform, dTI intends to deepen its specialization in pharmacy delivery, including additional pharmacy-system integrations, healthcare-specific driver workflows, route optimization, patient experience tools and enterprise health-system capabilities.
“There’s enormous value in vertical software that truly understands the industry it serves. Our goal isn’t to make Optio everything for everyone. It’s to make it an exceptional technology platform for pharmacies that need to get prescriptions safely and reliably from their pharmacy to their patients.”Christopher Heffernan
Optio will join the dlivrd Technologies Inc. portfolio following the closing of the transaction. Additional product updates, integrations and the refreshed Optio brand will be introduced as the company advances its pharmacy-focused roadmap.
